How To Use
It all began with an idea. How can we figure out what size button we need for our fiber arts project after creating the buttonhole? With this custom-designed tool its as easy as 1, 2, 3:
choose millimeters or inches
insert the tool into your knit or crocheted button hole until it no longer fits
read the number on the step that is flush with the fabric… this is your needed button size!

About Our Tool
This tool accommodates for fabric stretch (a necessary accommodation for knit fabrics compared to more anchored sewn buttonholes), recommends a button size that is 1/8in/4mm larger than the button hole (which is the standard knitwear button sizing recommendation for button size to hole size ratio), and uses a convenient step method which accounts for the width of most knit fabrics, while including both standard and metric sizing in one convenient tool.
This tool is the first of its kind and was invented by our proprietor, Anna Seibert. Patent Applications were filed in October of 2025 before introducing this tool to the market or sharing images of it online. Any similar tool claiming to be a button hole sizing tool is in violation of intellectual property rights and will be treated accordingly.
